John Preston Osborne

John Preston Osborne was born on March 14, 1832, to Jeremiah Osborne and Christina Graybeal. He grew up alongside several siblings. On April 10, 1853, he married Mary Polly Jones, and together they had nine children.
On August 15, 1862, John enlisted as a private in Company B, 37th Infantry Regiment of North Carolina, serving in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. His service came to an end on November 15, 1863, when he was officially dropped from the regiment’s rolls.
