A 1966 Lincoln Heights High School graduate, Freddie was drafted into the United States Army in May 1968.  After he received his basic training, he served in South Vietnam as a Private First Class (PFC0.  While in Vietnam he was in the E3, Company A, 2nd Battalion (Airmobile), 5th Calvary, 1st Calvary Division (Airmobile) and Vietnam SVC, National Defense.  

 He was killed in action on December 10, 1968.

Awards include Purple Heart, Marksman Machine Gun & Rifle, Expert Auto Rifle, Bronze Star, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, and Fidelity Efficiency Honor.

Freddie was the fourth son born to Thaddie Reece and Lela Viola Eller Dobbins on August 1, 1948.
