Exploring the Solar System

Adult Kits for September 12-October 8, 2022.

Observations

If you are one of the lucky registrants who received a Star and Planet locator, you are all set to get outside and explore.  If you missed the registration kit, don't worry!  Just use the following two links to help guide your eyes around the night sky.  If you need help, please feel free to drop by the Reference Desk upstairs for help in your solar navigating adventures!

If you can't get outside, you can still participate!  Just come visit Tutor Room 3 on the second level of the library.  There you will find a glow-in-the-dark cosmic spectacle of planets and constellations!

For every constellation or planet you identify, whether outside or in Tutor Room 3, you can use the form below to submit your name and contact information into a drawing for a chance to win the Grand Prize!  And, seriously, this prize rocks!  So, just have fun, and good luck!

Each astral object may be submitted once per week.  For example, you may find Mars every night for a week, but may only submit it once.  The following week, you may submit Mars once again as the challenge is learning to navigate the movement of objects in the sky.
