Join us for some stellar fun this Fall season! From September 19-October 22, 2022, Ashe County Public Library is hosting 5 weeks of solar system exploration. We'll learn interesting facts about our planetary neighbors, explore online resources for further learning, and engage in some nightly sky watching as we learn to read a sky map.
The first 30 people to visit the Reference Desk each week of the program will receive a kit loaded with goodies to fuel the adventure, plus supplies to journal the fun! Even if you aren't lucky enough to score a kit, you can still participate and win prizes. Just come upstairs to the Reference Desk each week to register to enter a weekly drawing. The prize loot is out of this world!
As an optional activity, you can also look to the stars to identify celestial objects throughout the next five weeks. Submit the astronomical objects you find for a chance to win the Grand Prize. Each individual entry will put your name in the grand prize drawing, so the more objects you find, the better your chance for winning. Get out there and look up! Happy sky watching!!
