COVID-19 Information

How Coronavirus Spreads
Community (person-to-person spread) usually happens through:
  • the air by coughing and sneezing
  • close personal contact, such as touching or shaking hands
  • touching an object or surface with the virus on it, then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes before washing your hands
  • rarely, fecal contamination

Recommendations
  • Wash your hands
    • WET your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.
    • LATHER your hands by rubbing them with soap. Clean the backs, palms, between your fingers, and around and under your nails.
    • SCRUB your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? You can sing the "Happy Birthday" song from beginning to end twice or any of our other favorites (click here).
    • RINSE hands well under clean, running water.
    • DRY hands using a clean towel or let them air dry.
    • TURN OFF the faucet with a towel and throw it away or put it in your dirty laundry.
  • Don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Maintain a safe distance (3-6 feet) between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
  • Cough or sneeze into a clean tissue or your bent elbow.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • If you develop a fever, cough, and shortness of breath, immediately get medical assistance.

Watch for the following symptoms:
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath

Call your doctor:  If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your healthcare provider for medical advice.
Emergency Warning Signs
Get medical attention immediately if you exhibit these symptoms:
  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • New confusion or inability to arouse
  • Bluish lips or face
