ARL Good Neighbor Project 2019: Hello My Name Is .... Doug Lail

Stories of Recovery: Hope and Help

Hello My Name Is… offers a look at the faces of people that face their greatest fears and reunite with the world.

Douglas Lail, artist

A key part of the process is, the participants are given an active role & voice through the their recovery story that accompanies each portrait. It is a chance to talk about their experiences, where their strength lies and to share the hope of recovery with the world. These stories are handwritten, which gives a glimpse of the personality behind it.

See Doug's art and read recovery stories at Ashe, Watauga, and Wilkes County Public Libraries through the month of October.

Meet Doug at his exhibit's opening reception in Ashe County Public Library from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on September 28

Doug will give a mini-presentation in Watauga County Public Library at 11:00 a.m. and at Wilkes County Public Library at 2:00 p.m. on October 26
