Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem.

The Department of Wellness and Prevention Services' mission is to serve ASU students through the promotion of healthy behaviors, risk behavior modification services, and advocacy for campus-wide health policies that facilitate student success and holistic well-being.

The ASU Psychology Clinic is a community-based training clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive psychological services to High Country residents and Appalachian State University students at an affordable cost.

Daymark Recovery Services is a non-profit organization established to provide comprehensive behavioral healthcare services as defined by those in the community in need of mental health or substance abuse treatment options. All of our staff are highly qualified individuals with a plethora of knowledge to suit individual care as needed.

Freedom Farm Ministries rehab treatment is a year-long commitment. Our experience has proven that the longer men stay in the program, the more stable their faith and their lives are once they decide to leave. Those men that stay for the entire year are much less likely to relapse than those that choose to leave early.

Just like the early church, Freedom Farm Ministries is a community where openness and honesty are valued, sharing is practiced, and study of Scripture forms the basis for decisions – individually and collectively. We have two facilities to serve the differing needs of men and women struggling with addiction. Our main campus in Boone, North Carolina is our men's facility and can house up to 39 students. Grace Home, our women's facility, is located in Santee, South Carolina and has a capacity for 16 ladies.



We offer a 10-week residential program at both our facilities and there is no charge for admission other than a small, refundable medical deposit for emergency purposes.

The Hospitality House of the Boone Area, Inc. is a private, non-profit crisis intervention agency that assists adults and families in homeless situations. They have provided shelter and services to the homeless for 25 years.

Homelessness affects people of all ages and circumstances: men, women, children, elderly, veterans, those living on limited resources due to low wages, under and unemployed, those with disabilities, some with chronic illnesses, those with mental illness and addiction disorders.

Infinite Beginnings, LLC was founded in 2010 by two experienced mental health professionals that identified a need within the community for comprehensive progressive health services that focused on the client while maintaining a high degree of integrity and compliance.

Kari's Home for Women is a Bible-based, Christian, ministry, focused on helping women develop a relationship with Jesus Christ, the one and only Higher Power.
The residential, one-year program format consists of two phases. In phase I the recovery phase. Women participate in a structured Bible based program, attend church and other recovery meetings and are encouraged and prayed for by women who have experienced addiction themselves. The daily schedule of activities is designed to help women grow spiritually and to live responsibly.
​Phase II is the transition phase of the program. During this phase the women continue to live on site and begin working and making plans for the future.
Kari's Home for Women clients and residents are required to attend a Christian church and encouraged to attend local recovery meetings such as Celebrate Recovery.
​Kari's Home is located in west of Boone, North Carolina in a rural setting.

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs have become a major problem. Narcotics Anonymous uses a traditional 12-step model that has been expanded and developed for people with varied substance abuse issues.

Stepping Stone is a private, outpatient, medically assisted addiction treatment program. Our goal is to help individuals overcome the disease of addiction to opiates and to achieve sustained health and wellness.

Vaya Health works with healthcare providers to help people with behavioral health or developmental disability needs find healing and hope on their journey toward whole-person health.
