Dr. Larry Kilby was born and spent his time in rural Wilkes County. He then moved with his parents to High Point and then Winston-Salem. After he completed public school and completed medical training and military service, he returned to Wilkes where he practiced several aspects of medicine.
His writing experience consists of medical histories and hospital summaries. Each one has a story worth telling. Several years ago, he surprised himself by attending Essie Hayes' creative writing group at the Wilkes County Public Library. He thoroughly enjoyed it. He creates very little but enjoys being in the company of fine dedicated writers.
He tends to be introspective and independent more an observer than a participant. He often learns more about other people than he reveals about himself.
