More Than Moonshine

 

 

Catherine Parks Freeman is a native of Wilkes County. She is a graduate of Wilkes Central High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in English from UNC Greensboro. Cathy has enjoyed a diverse career path- teaching public school English and French, as well as working as a Licensed Practical Nurse in several nursing homes. Over the years Cathy has played the piano and organ professionally for diurch, community theater, and various chamber groups. Cathy retired from Britthaven Nursing Home and continued to be the organist at Wilkesboro United Methodist Church for over 35 years. Cathy now enjoys creative hobbies including art and writing classes, as well as volunteering and playing music for people in the community. She enjoys writing children’s stories. Cathy has written three books- including The Story of Me, The Adventures of Mama Doozle, and Watcha-Ma-Call-It. She offers her creative stories in honor of her five muses - Ani Grace, Mary Douglas, Catherine Marie, Caroline Hardy, and William Henry (Hank).
