REVIEW: For all cat lovers and animal lovers, in general, "Homer's Odyssey" by Gwen Cooper is a must read! This is a true story about a young single woman, Cooper, living in Miami with 2 cats. Out of the blue, she receives a phone call from her cats' vet asking if she'd be interested in adopting a blind 4 week old kitten. Not wanting another cat, Cooper reluctantly says she'll consider it; however, when she sees this teeny tiny black kitten he immediately steals her heart. The kitten, Homer, surprisingly is rambunctious, quick learning, fearless, lovable and absolutely adorable. Even Cooper's 2 other cats are accepting of this addition to the family and Cooper's friends are equally enthralled by Homer's personality. Simultaneously, is the story of Gwen who finds life changing inspiration due to her sweet and loving Homer. Finding new jobs, developing a new career, living alone, experiencing a frightening break-in, moving back home with her parents, plane and train travel with cats, Sept. 11, and more. "Homer's Odyssey" is a beautiful story of a blind cat and the young woman who loves him. Rating and Review by Judy T.

REVIEW: The true story of a blind kitten adopted by the author and their close relationship. Homer taught Gwen about courage, taking risks, not letting obstacles stop you from going after your goals and adapting to change seamlessly. He survived numerous moves and being trapped in their apartment alone near the World Trade Center on 9-11. Another lesson was that love isn't something you see with your eyes. Take a blind leap!! REVIEW: This was a quick read and an enchanting tale of a blind kitten, his adoption, and the life and journey this little ball of fur makes! I'm a self professed "cat lady" and while I only have one cat at the moment, I've had as many as eight! I loved the language and pace of the Homer stories. I loved how the author characterized his conversations with various "meows". Perfect - oops purr-fect! This was a delightful tale of a young women growing up, having absolute devotion to her four-legged family members, and how valuable it is to share your life and love with an animal.
