This reading challenge is open to all ages but is particularly suitable for teens and adults. We sponsor this challenge for two very important reasons: to promote literacy in our community and to have fun doing it. Each year, our librarians select 50 new challenges and participants are invited to complete as many challenges as they want. Each accepted entry earns one ticket for an end-of-year drawing for books and other prizes. Click the image above to get started!

At Ashe County Public Library, we are committed to helping kids discover their love of reading. The Arly edition of the 2021 Ashe County Reading Challenge encourages reading widely throughout the year and rewards kids from birth to 12 and their families for reading. Complete as many categories as you want by reading a book and submitting a review. Reviews can simple or as complex as you want. "I thought the main character was funny!" is a great review. For each book read and reviewed, readers will get an entry for the grand prize drawing at the Reading Challenge Wrap-Up/Kickoff Celebration in January of 2022. For every five books read and reviewed in the challenge, kids will receive a free book or prize. Kids who have completed the challenge will get double entries (a total of 50) for the grand prize drawing. Click the picture to start now!
